Sol Country LLC ("Sol Country," "we," "us," or "our") operates solcountry.com, an energy savings platform for renters and homeowners across the United States. We are based in Denver, Colorado.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
Information you provide directly
- Email address — when you enter it in the Find My Power quiz, subscribe to Sol Country's waitlist emails, or sign up for Sol Pro
- Home address or zip code — when you use the Find My Power quiz or any Sol Country address-based tool
- Name — when you sign up for Sol Pro or contact us
- Payment information — when you subscribe to Sol Pro. Payment is processed by Stripe. Sol Country does not store your credit card number or payment details directly.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, time spent, clicks, and interactions on solcountry.com, collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Device information — browser type, operating system, screen size
- IP address — collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 below
Information from third parties
Energy and property data — Sol Country uses third-party APIs including the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR), RentCast, and Census ACS to generate personalized results. These providers may receive your address or zip code as part of the API request.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for:
- Providing personalized energy savings results based on your address, state, and utility
- Sending email updates about legislation changes, program status updates, and energy savings opportunities you've opted into
- Operating and improving the Sol Country platform
- Processing Sol Pro subscriptions through Stripe
- Sending transactional emails (quiz results, Pro onboarding, subscription receipts) through Resend and Klaviyo
- Measuring site performance and understanding how visitors use Sol Country through Google Analytics 4
- Complying with legal obligations
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Use your information to serve you targeted advertising on other platforms
- Share your email address with affiliate partners (clicking an affiliate link on Sol Country does not share your personal information with that partner)
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers
We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate Sol Country, including:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
- Stripe — payment processing for Sol Pro
- Klaviyo — email marketing and automation
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Google — analytics (GA4) and advertising (Google Ads)
- RentCast, EIA, NLR, Census ACS — data APIs used to generate personalized results
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data shared with them.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sol Country, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If Sol Country LLC is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on solcountry.com before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
5. Cookies
Sol Country uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the site and understand how visitors use it.
Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (Sol Pro authentication, quiz session data, localStorage for your /start-here progress)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 tracks how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on page, quiz completion rates). GA4 data is anonymized and aggregated.
- Marketing cookies — Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether ad clicks result in quiz completions or Pro signups
How to control cookies
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some Sol Country features including the /start-here progress tracker and Sol Pro authentication.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Colorado residents (Colorado Privacy Act — CPA)
- Right to access the personal data Sol Country holds about you
- Right to correct inaccurate personal data
- Right to delete your personal data
- Right to opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising (Sol Country does not use your data for targeted advertising on other platforms)
- Right to data portability
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
- Right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used
- Right to delete your personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (Sol Country does not sell personal information)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
All users
- Right to unsubscribe from Sol Country email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email
- Right to request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing info@solcountry.com
To exercise any of these rights, email info@solcountry.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide Sol Country's services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Specifically:
- Quiz lead data — retained indefinitely unless you request deletion
- Sol Pro subscriber data — retained for the duration of your subscription plus 3 years for tax and legal compliance
- Email marketing data — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months)
8. Children's Privacy
Sol Country is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@solcountry.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify Sol Pro subscribers by email.
Your continued use of Sol Country after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
