How it works

Keep the power on.
Here's how.

A home battery stores electricity from your solar panels — or from the grid during off-peak hours. When the grid goes down, your battery automatically takes over in milliseconds, keeping your critical circuits running without interruption.

Important: Solar panels alone do not provide backup power during a grid outage — most grid-tied inverters shut off for utility-worker safety. You need a battery (or a generator) to keep your home powered when the grid is down.
Step 01
Solar panels generate power
Sunlight hits your panels and generates DC electricity during the day. Excess power flows into your battery automatically.
Step 02
Battery stores the energy
Your home battery stores surplus solar power — or charges from the grid during low-rate overnight hours.
Step 03
Grid goes down
A power outage triggers your system's automatic switchover in under 20 milliseconds. No manual steps. No delay.
Step 04
Your home stays on
Critical circuits — fridge, lights, router, medical devices — continue running on stored power. You wait out the outage in comfort.
Backup duration

How long will
your battery last?

It depends on what you're running. Here's a real-world guide for a standard 10–13.5 kWh battery.

need to know.

How long will a home battery last during an outage?+
A standard 10–13.5 kWh battery powers critical loads (fridge, lights, internet, medical devices) for 12–24 hours. Adding HVAC reduces that to 8–12 hours. With solar recharging during daylight, you can extend backup indefinitely on clear days.
