Governor Kelly Ayotte signed SB 540 into law on July 3, 2026 - making New Hampshire the 8th state to legalize plug-in balcony solar. Systems up to 1,200W are legal statewide.

New Hampshire participates in the $450 million five-state Heat Pump Accelerator launched February 2026 (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire). This supplements New Hampshire's existing programs rather than replacing them. Ask your installer about Accelerator-funded incentives when requesting quotes.
