What UL 3700 means and why it matters.
On December 2025, UL Solutions published UL 3700 — the first dedicated safety certification standard for plug-in solar systems in the United States. Every state that has legalized balcony solar requires or references UL 3700 or an equivalent safety standard.
Accuracy note: As of August 2026, Bright Saver and APsystems (EZ1-LV microinverter, certified July 15, 2026) have confirmed UL 3700 certification for plug-in solar products in the US. CraftStrom (UL certified — Sol Country is verifying the specific certification level against UL 3700 system requirements. Check craftstrom.com for current certification documentation.) Additional manufacturers are actively pursuing certification. Sol Country only lists kits built with UL-listed components (UL 1741 microinverters, UL-listed panels) that are certified or actively pursuing UL 3700. We track status per kit and flip the label the day it changes.

Portable power stations don't need UL 3700
Portable power stations (EcoFlow DELTA, Jackery Explorer, Bluetti) do not plug into your home's electrical system - they store power in a battery and power devices directly through their own outlets.
These products are covered by different safety standards (UL 1973 for battery safety, UL 62368 for electronics) and are legal in all 50 states without any legislation or certification for plug-in use.
Sol Country's portable power products meet all applicable standards for their category.
